About Us
We want to change the way people exercise, one person at a time!
Back when Daniel was a kid, sport was everything. Would not matter what the sport was, as long as he could play. Daniel grew up, constantly building his fitness and strength for various sports; fell in love with it and wanted to share his experience and knowledge with others. In October of 2016 Daniel created what we know now today as Hype Performance, with the intention of changing how people get healthier. Hype Performance had one goal of establishing itself where you change yourself while also cracking a joke here and there.

From then on, we have been servicing clients from all walks of Canberra from South side to North we have helped others achieve their goals. We wanted to expand our reach and help others so in early March, we expanded by employing Daniel’s brother Mathew. From there, Mat has worked tirelessly to work his way to become head trainer and help foster in new growth for Hype Performance.
Daniel Buitendam - Owner/Director
I have always had a passion for sports; at a young age, I played for multiple rep teams across different codes of sports. Once a finished High School, I thought the right step was to become a primary school teacher. After a year or so I found myself drawn back towards sports and eventually made the decision to leave my degree to follow my love of sports.

After attaining my Certificate 3 and 4 in fitness, I established Hype Performance in October 2016. Using my knowledge and skills taught to me since I was a kid, I helped people achieve their health and fitness goals.

Mathew Buitendam - Trainer/Programmer

I have always had the itch of playing sports and doing something different. Admittedly; I was not always like this, I hung the boots up a young age with the idea that I never enjoyed playing sports. After 5 years of not being physically active, I made the choice to go to the gym. From there I fell in love, never missing a session and always learning something new.

After spending quite some time training, I took the decision to begin my Cert 4 in fitness, in late February 2019. I set out to make exercising as fun as possible, and changing the perception of exercise.
